That's bad! Please write your problem below and someone from our community may help you. The stupid nonsense answers from Amazon are insulting to our intelligence. Don't you think we would have already tried all those normal troubleshooting things before coming to a forum? My problem is exactly the same- picture freezes, often with a thick green bar at the bottom, while sound continues. It's now freezing every few seconds, if I ever can get it to unfreeze.
Sometimes it will unfreeze on its own if I leave it running with only sound after a little while, usually I have to exit out or reboot the program, but it doesn't fix it for long and maybe it's not fixing it at all, it just makes me feel like I'm doing something.
I even tried deleting and reinstalling the app. Amazon works fine on my phone. It seems like some titles freeze up more than others, but maybe it's because it's the show I've been watching the most? I'm glad to see it's not just me, and if the service isn't fixed very very soon, I will cancel. And btw take some dang responsibility, Amazon, and get this fixed! And hire some actual tech support people, rather than minimally trained people who just regurgitate the limited info that's already on your website and app.
This is an Amazon problem, it appears, but we need a real solution. Reboot, restart, IP refresh, and network checks to the PS4 are all fine. Amazon Prime streaming to Chrome browser also works without issue. In this case, I have no idea I'm not watching or streaming in 4k. And the video gets pixelated, hangs, and goes blank while the audio continues without issue.
Same problem in Sweden. Some series seem to be working fine, but are having serious issues with the Treadstone serie freezing and loading - on an off.
Youtube, Netflix and HBO works fine. Turning off the hardware and turning on again - power cycling, rebooting, solves nothing. Those are steps one makes when they are unaware of the problem and lack a solution. Netflix works fine, Hulu works fine Amazon does not work. Amazon prime freezes on both televisions. The video starts to play and the freezes and stops with the error - something has gone wrong.
This is an Amazon Prime problem. It seems Amazon is incapable of solving this problem. If Amazon needs help I am experienced with working with Networks, protocols and packet security. Their video comes in flawlessly.. Amazon we need a solution to this issue. If you cannot find a solution you will face an exodus.
Don't assume you are too big of a company to continuously keep ignoring customer issues. Fix this issue or your video service will suffer the same fate as BlackBerry. Assign a technical team to solve the Amazon Prime video not streaming issue.
This is unsatisfactory. On my TV, I'm watching Netflix which is buffering just fine - the app is responsive, same with other apps including Youtube - all fine. I've gone through a raft of fixes ncludng rebooting router, checking tv firmware, reinstalling the amazon app but it is still frozen on the tv. Has anyone figured out a fix? Prime Video plays for hours sometimes without losing sound or blacking out. Netflix, Hulu, etc etc never does this.
I want answers We have had the same issues, freezing, sound going off since about. I believe it started when all these other streaming video services HuLu, etc.
When I called them they said it was Amazons fault. I'm going to try deleting the Amazon APP, if possible, then reinstalling it. I doubt it will solve the problem. Some of these complaints are from 2 years ago, that means Amazon doesn't care if the lose a customer or not.
This issue is still alive and kicking in Amazon prime video hangs intermittently, sometimes for a couple seconds, sometimes for a couple minutes.
What the heck, Amazon! So disappointing! I'm sorry to hear about your streaming problem with Prime Video. If the troubleshooting steps in this thread don't resolve your issue, please contact Amazon Support for advanced troubleshooting.

Linda Dann , Turdskin , and 3 others like this. Restarting your device , Internet modem , and router can resolve many intermittent connectivity issues.
To restart your device or network connections, unplug them from the power source and wait 30 seconds before plugging them back in. Let me know if this helps! Is there a streaming issue in Canada? The XS has had the wireless card go bad at two months old, but I'm not bothering sending it back as I expect too much hassle. Looking forward to the upcoming Amazon device or maybe getting an Apple TV also. Daily power cycles get old quick, and with three devices doing this I know where to lay the blame lol!

I'm not blaming the Roku itself, though it might be slightly underpowered or something which will not help, but seeing as this is out of Rokus hands I need to just look elsewhere. I thought Roku would have the best channel support as they are so popular, but that is not seeming to be the case. No harm, I still like the devices, but I need better reliability as I've fully cut the cord and don't even get OTA programming so if it's not coming from Roku I'm not seeing it!
